Darren Ching

Darren Ching is the Owner and Director of the Klompching Gallery in New York, specializing in the exhibition and sale of contemporary fine art photographs, placing artworks into numerous private, corporate and public collections. Mr Ching’s involvement with photography spans two decades. Formerly the Creative Director of PDN, establishing the design direction of the magazine and was a perennial judge for the annual PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers issue. He regularly judges photography awards and competitions, including the Arnold Newman Prize in 2018; “Americana” at Colorado Photographic Arts Center in 2017; and was included in the recent “Curator’s Choice” issue for Aint-Bad magazine. As an educator, he was an Adjunct Faculty member at SVA in NYC for four years, and has been a guest critic/lecturer at institutions including RISD, MICA, SCAD and Parson’s. Additionally, Mr. Ching is a freelance designer, specializing in photography-based projects, and is a consultant offering advice and career strategies to all levels of photographers.
