The panel will conclude with time for Q&A with the audience.

Chicago Artists Coalition is a non-profit organization that supports contemporary Chicago artists and curators by offering residency programs, exhibitions, professional development, and resources that enable them to live, work, and thrive in the city. This panel will be presented by Brookes Ebetsch, Dana Randall, and Fatima Hendricks.

Brookes Ebetsch is the Executive Director of Chicago Artists Coalition. Prior to this role, she was Executive Director of Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and School of Performing Arts in suburban Chicago. In 2022, she was part of the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Leadership Institute. Her early career at the Institute for Latino Studies focused on visual art exhibitions, documentation of Latinx art and artists, and collaborative arts projects with organizations across the US.

Before returning to non-profit arts, she was Executive Director of SunstoneFIT in Dallas, TX for 12 years. She is an alumna of the Stagen Integral Leadership Program and was awarded a Foreign Language and Area Studio (FLAS) fellowship to Brazil from the U.S. Department of Education. She holds a B.F.A. in Studio Arts: photography and ceramics, a second major in Spanish, and a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame | Mendoza School of Business.

Dana Randall (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Chicago, where she grew up immersed in the arts. This interest is what led her to pursue a career in the field upon returning to Chicago after college. Dana received a BA in History, with a concentration in Narrative Journalism from Denison University. There, she worked at the Denison Museum as a Collections and Exhibitions Intern, wrote for the Digital Strategy Team in University Communications, and interned with publications like Columbus Monthly and Story Magazine. Currently, Dana serves as the Communications and Alumni Relations Manager at Chicago Artists Coalition.

Fatima Hendricks (she/her/hers), is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the arts both as a whole and especially here in Chicago. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, she reallocated to Chicago to begin her matriculation through school. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2022 with a B.A. in Cinema and Media Studies, with a focus on the historical narratives of Black film. Since graduating, she has worked with Arts + Public Life as the Exhibitions and Programming Coordinator, where she began as an intern in 2020. While at Arts + Public Life, Fatima worked directly with local artists, performers, and space-makers to create dynamic and impactful exhibitions and programming in the historic Washington Park district on Chicago’s South Side. Fatima’s priority in all of her work is to amplify the voices of artists, develop programs that foster creativity and cultural engagement within the community, and create ethical and effective spaces for artists to be able to create and explore their interests to their fullest potential.
